Six Boston middle schoolers have come into The Metropolitan Club kitchen to experience the life of a professional chef and learn from Jeff Fournier. The adventure concludes at this special event, when the students will prepare a three-course menu, with proceeds benefiting Kids Can Cook (www.kidscancook.org). Last year, this event helped Friends of Dana-Farber raise over $1 million dollars to support a variety of initiatives within Dana-Farber. This group is an integral part of the Institute, supporting its mission to promote cutting edge research in the fight against cancer and working to maintain quality, compassionate care for its patients. On Tuesday, January 31, Executive Chef Jeff Fournier participated in The Supper Bowl I: Five Courses of Football, Food and Fun at the TD Banknorth Garden. New England Patriots Steve Grogan, Gino Cappelletti, Andre Tippett, Steve Nelson, Tim Fox, Mosi Tatupu and Russ Francis prepared dishes that were being served that evening, including Gino Cappelletti's Old World Shrimp Scampi, while our own Chef Jeff provided commentary. All the proceeds from this fun event benefited The Sports Museum.

Rodman Ford hosted the Third Annual Celebration for Kids on Friday, December 2, 2005. There were over 2,000 guests in attendance at the World Trade Center in Boston. The Metropolitan Club was proud to be part of this event with many other fine Boston restaurants. On November 20th, The Atrium Mall hosted the 21st Annual Joey O' Donnell Film Premier to Benefit the Joey Fund/Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Metropolitan Club was pleased to participate in this exclusive event, which included a private screening of the latest Harry Potter film. |
